That is interesting, I did not know. I just checked the online Merriam Webster and it lists four categories of germ. Bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi.

Interesting. I always thought viruses and bacteria were germs, but had not considered parasites or fungi to be germs. So that's new to me too. Or at least the last 2 categories being considered germs is new to me.

my grandma had read up on holistic health some and referred to "good germs" probably referring to helpful bacteria

I recall a quote from Pasteur or someone who spent a life chasing germs and illness...and regretted that time thinking he should have studied the people that survived, not those who succumbed.
