As salaam aleykum
I am new to the site so I hope you do not mind me jumping into your discussion. All posts on this thread seem to be from men, so I thought a female Muslim view may add something to the discussion.
If my husband (indeed if all men) get 10 million wives in heaven, I don't care. I do not see it as demeaning to me, good luck to them if that is what they have wished for. If I am good enough to get to heaven, insha'Allah, then I shall have what I wished for (and that is not 10 million husbands ).
Many non Muslims hear about the Islamic view of heaven and immediately think "huge orgy". This is a total misconception. Imagine the day of judgement has come and you are lucky enough to get into heaven, what would you wish for? At the moment you think you would wish for things to satisfy your human desires but remember that those lucky enough to get to heaven will be completely changed, their body, their mind, their emotions, etc. How could G-d describe to us the unimaginable? Only in terms that humans would understand. So really we have no idea what heaven would be like because Allah has told us that it is unimaginable to the human mind.
Wow, what do I say about your comment "suppression of women and the covering up of women as if they are one big private part?". Firstly, I am not suppressed and secondly I AM one big private part. My body is for my husband only, would you prefer I show it off to all and sundry? No thankyou, this is my choice alone not forced upon me by any man or woman. Perhaps this is not the right thread for this discussion - if you want to talk about it further you can go to my introduce yourself thread and I will happily answer your questions about 'suppressed Muslim women'.
