Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they are in the middle of some novel or movie.

I'm 50, grew up with strife over vietnam war, race relations, the rise of drug use, sexual revolution, women's liberation. I only heard and read about world wars and depression.

We are in the middle of a turning point larger than anything else in my lifetime.

thoughts?

Oh, ok, we've moved from the East Room of the Whitehouse interupted by a special report to America and now back to Jerry Springer on America's Got Talent. The world is back in place...

Surreal...

Yeah, it's odd. Part of me is saying "holy moly!" (OK, not the G-rated version, but I'll keep it sanitized) and freaking out. Part of me can't believe it and just keeps trucking along. And the anthropologist in me is fascinated at what will happen.

This whole thing brings the reality of our economy as a socialist system that favors the rich (rather than more or less equal distribution of wealth) totally manifest and in the public eye.
