Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
To those that read and replied to Urabbit's thread re: army...
I went off the deep end, and for that I am sorry.
I had a little "awakening" as it were about how harsh and judgmental I can be.
I was reminded about how I reacted to a similar incident in my own life a few years ago. And how wrong I was.
My son was injured while serving, he was offered other positions in the military, and he declined. I was upset. You see, he had always always wanted to be in the army, (infantry). when he was injured he could no longer be Infantry, they offered him "lighter" jobs as it were. He told me , Mum, if I cant be in the infantry, I dont want to be a soldier. the infantry is all there is!!. As he was newly wed, and a child on the way, I was in two minds as it were. I was glad that he would be out of harms way, but as he never finished high school, (to enlist), and the only skills he got from the army, was combat training, I was worried about his future. He could go on the disability pension for the rest of his life. I thought..... Oh no...... he is 23 and going on the pension!!! I didnt handle it very well!
I should have trusted him, I should have realised that he was a man, and he had the "life" skills to accomplish anything he wanted.
To cut a long story short..... he was right, I was wrong, he is employed, doing very well, now, the father of 2 boys!! And thankfully, he did not inherit my overbearing judgemental traits.
I think that is why I reacted like I did to Rabbit, I went "back" to that judgemental place.
Again, my apologies.
I could have posted this just to rabbit, but as I publicly chastised him, I thought it would be best to publicly apologise as well.
That being said, it doesnt mean that i wont stuff up again!!
