Those eyeballs would take up a lot of space in the skull - reducing the volume available for brain tissue. Would future humans be as adorably clueless as owls or cats?

All right, arrogant and delightfully clueless :)

Who will open the doors for future humans? Who will supply cardboard boxes and paper bags to hide in and pounce from?

Neanderthals had a bigger brain volume.
"The volume of the human brain has increased as humans have evolved (see Homininae), starting from about 600 cm3 in Homo habilis up to 1680 cm3 in Homo neanderthalensis, which was the hominid with the biggest brain size. The increase in brain size stopped with neanderthals. Since then, the average brain size has been shrinking over the past 28,000 years. The cranial capacity has decreased from around 1,550 cm3 to around 1,440 cm3 in males while the female cranial capacity has shrunk from around 1,500 cm3 to around 1,240 cm3."

So, size is important, but size is not all. ;)

Yeah, I like Wikipedia very much. At one time, it gave very good scholarly information on Hinduism, but the chauvinists spoiled it.
In total, I am interested in 29 subjects - I counted once. :D

So wouldn't this indicate that "recruiting His kingdom that in time will battle the dark forces that oppose the light of truth and good" is not Gods purpose nor is it the intent behind our existence?

Because God wants us to be good. To be good you have to choose good, to choose good evil must be an option. I like the example of AI, let's say I build a robot that help people who need it cross the road, would you say this robot is good? I wouldn't, because it is simply doing what it is programmed and designed for, it is incapable of doing anything else whether it wants to or not so at most you could say is whoever designed/built/programmed it is good. Now if I built a robot and this robot had a true AI that could make decisions for itself and it decided to help people cross the road, then you could say it is a good robot.

It is the same with Gods creation, if we were created only with the ability to do good, into an existence where there was only good it would say nothing about us, only something about our creator. I believe the purpose of this existence is to reveal information about ourselves.

As you said, God is self sufficient, He would have no need for reassurance and especially not an external one.

Yeah I can imagine it a bit, I will probably jump off a cliff or two for fun. :D
The question of boredom in the afterlife is one I have considered but I don't think it is one we can really answer.. however if you have faith in God for so many things believing He has that sorted isn't a stretch.

I think any two good people can get along

I think you are looking at this from the angle of "what's in this for God", in that sense I think the answer is that God is aiming to establish His right to rule. He is showing what happens when we try our own systems of govt and law. Even that however isn't really for God, He could make everything run like clockwork, this is all for our benefit.

Yeah, God's ego is greater than human ego. If someone does not accept the existence of God or his prophets / sons / messengers / manifestations / mahdis, then it hurts God's ego and the ego of these people. It is all an ego game.

    That's ridiculous!
G-d does not need out worship. He only cares for our well-being.
It is human beings that need guidance. Without guidance, we will fall into error and sin.
Sin destroys us which is why G-d has told us it is evil. It doesn't affect G-d, He is of infinite nature.

If a people refuse to acknowledge G-d, G-d loses nothing. we are the losers.
You may ask about blasphemy .. why is it a major sin to denounce G-d?
Same reason .. we will become losers .. "followers of the devil"
A society that loses its respect for decency is on "thin ice"

That guidance is given by our elders and society. I never needed God to ask what to do.
How and what I loose if I do not acknowledge God?
By being an atheist, how do I loose decency? You think all atheists are indecent and all theists are decent?

I didn't say that all atheists are "indecent".
You said that G-d has an ego because He requires our worship.
I tried to explain why that was untrue.

It is not just about the individual, but about society .. community .. nation.
People's behaviour is dependent on their beliefs and way of life.

If we make up our own moral code as we go along, YOU might think that the secular code/law of today is correct, but what about the next generation?
You might not agree with theirs.
No .. it is not about "G-d's ego", it is about OURS!

That is what we do, make our rules as we go along. At one time, women walked two paces behind men. Now they walk in step with men if not a step ahead. Times change, rules change. Only fossils do not change.

So God in all His glory has no purpose because according to you "where would God get a purpose? Maybe a self-imposed purpose will suffice?

Fossils are not impervious to change if exposed to the elements rain, water, wind, and even heat

I asked a question... Why would G!d need a self imposed purpose?

God has a purpose. God has desires. God wants worship and submission from his creations, like a father would want a son/daughter to obey him. And if they do not obey him, then God punishes. He has a hell for that. He wants you to accept Jesus as his son or Mohammad as his last messenger. And those who do not accept this suffer hell for all eternity and their children suffer till the third or the fourth generation. He is a jealous God.
Well, you have a nice God there, but I do not want to have anything to do with such a God. :)

G-d is not a person. You speak as if there is a man with a beard in the sky who will hurt you for disobedience.

No .. G-d warns us of the consequences of ignoring His guidance.
If we arrogantly turn away, then the consequences follow..
..just as in this life there are consequences for what we do .. there are laws.

We might not like the laws .. we might not like getting caught by the police etc.
    ..makes no difference.
We are all responsible for our souls ..eventually they return to whence they came, of which we have little knowledge.
We can only experience the here and now i.e. this life
We can hide things from other souls here, but everything we do is exposed eventually..
