Hello my new interfaith friends, my name is Ludvig and I am a German.

I have not participated in this interfaith things before, so I might make a few mistalks here and there.

I am very glad to see all of this interfaith Christian discussion. I would like to learn about all of the different Christian groups.

I am proud to be a German Christian and look forward to discuss this with all of you, my new friends.

I have no hard feelings about WWII and am glad to see so many Scottish peoples here and there.

I think I am going to like this forum. :D

Namaste and welcome my brother,
I have not participated in this interfaith things before, so I might make a few mistalks here and there.
Oh my if they are all as glorious as this one we will embrace them all! We've all made mistakes, misstook others intentions and mistalked ourcellves...

We are a varied bunch here and interfaith is beyond interdenominational. I think you'll find at times the difference between Christian denominations is wider than the difference between relgions:eek:

Welcome to Inter Faith Ludvig. I think you'll find yourself learning and growing from the discussions on this board (At least that was true with me). Then again, you may feel quite secure in your faith, and feel no need to change. I think there are some here whom just want to learn 'about' the faith of others, and not from them. Whatever your motive, I hope you find what you are looking for.

Blessings,

James

Thank you for your warm welcome, my new American friend, Wilhelm. If I was over there, in Maryland, I would give you a big bear hug and slap a fine Kolsch in your hand. :D

You appear to be one of the very active posters on this forum. Is this because you are such a good Christian ? Are you familiar with our fine German Christian traditions ? Our fine foods and drinks ? Our discipline ? We are good at building things over here in Germany. We used to build very good weapons, but that has slowed down a little for the war.

So, Wilhelm, what do you think about our fine German Christians, like Luther ?

You'd get a return bear hug believe it. And I'd accept the brew in the flavor of its offer however I would inform you I'm more intune to the darker, more toward the dopple bach but an augistena brau is doable...

Do I post because I'm such a good Christian...that would depend on who you ask, I post because other posts compel me and my gift of gab extends to my fingers.

German traditions I know of little, I don't even know how of my traditions are rooted in German although I think many. The food, I don't know why anyone would name their stuff wurst, buit to me it is quite descriptive, I being mostly veggie don't take much to the sausages you folks enjoy, when I travel your fine land it will be interesting to try your local veggie cuisine, your beer, I can easily say I appreciate it, but will never keep up with any of you (or my scottish aquaintance).

From my readings it appears Luther has plenty of mythology around him as well as some modern missinterpretations. However I've got to respect those that challenge authority as I is one. Without questions how will one find the answers?

Welcome to Inter Faith Ludvig. I think you'll find yourself learning and growing from the discussions on this board (At least that was true with me).

Thank you for your warm welcome, Pfortner (Gatekeeper) :).

Then again, you may feel quite secure in your faith, and feel no need to change.
But of course, we Germans are secure in everything :D.

I think there are some here whom just want to learn 'about' the faith of others, and not from them.
Ah yes, Pfortner, you are right, we do not need to learn from the others :D !!

Whatever your motive, I hope you find what you are looking for.
You are asking about my motives, we like to drink lots of beer and eat some nice wienerschnitzle. :):)

I noticed Pfortner, that you are looking for volunteers for your newly forming organization. I would very much like to join, but I would just like to let you know that we Germans are always in charge, so I would like to request that I am made the leader of the group. Please let me know if you are in agreement. :)

No one has asked what my work is ?? I am a Braumeister and my family have been Braumeisters since the 1,500's. Anyone interested in brewing ?? :D

Now that I have been in this forum for a while, I do not understand why I have not been greeted by my European Brüderkirche (brethern). There are some nice Scottish posters and even a wonderful English poster.

I look forward to a warm welcome from my new EU friends :).

I would especially like to give a great big bear hug to the poster called Tao. I would like to learn his views of our great German philosopher, Kant :).

Hello there Ludvig.... are you really new here? Because any German speaker would surely call themselves Ludwig not Ludvig. I believe this is a joke...I'm sure like it seemed a good idea at the time.

I actually by chance have a "Critique of Pure Reason" sitting not 2 metres from me... but it is heavy going. I am no scholar of Kant's work but I respect that he was an influential player in the Enlightenment and believe was a great inspiration to Boltzmann whom I admire greatly. He brought about a revolution in our understanding of infinity and entropy that I believe one day will be seen as vital to marrying all the fields of physics into an intelligible whole. Kant obviously inspired a great many others besides Boltzmann, including Foucault and Shaupenhauer to name but two.. But I have a feeling you are trying to lead this somehwere else altogether.... am I wrong?

I vas vondering the same thing for other reasons. So I checked and, wherever he's from, US IP.

Incidentally, my family really did brew beer when they were in Austria.

Hoho, thanks for the warm welcome, Das Tao :D !! Of course my given name is Ludwig, but during my younger days I had some aspirations to have a career in the German theater and decided to distinguish myself by taking the rather unique name of Ludvig. I hope it is not against any of the forum rules to use my nickname ??:D

No, my fine Scottish atheist friend, I am a real Braumeister here in Munchen.

Yes my dear Das Tao, I have no particular agenda for our discourse. I am glad to hear that you are a fan of our German philosophers. I see that you are also interested in science. In between dropping my fermentation batches I enjoy studying quantum physics and evolution and I look forward to exchanging ideas with you on these topics as well :D.

Right now I have to go and drop a 600 liter batch of Weizenbock, it has reached a Plato of 17.5 degrees and if I do not drop it quickly it will be too "colorful" :D. I will shortly be having my dinner with a stein of Weizenbock and a Braunwurst with potato salad :D.

Hoho, my great new American friend (with a German name), Dauer. It appears that you are in charge of security for this fine forum :D.

I am just a simple Braumeister and not so familiar with this fancy computer jargon, so I do not know what this US IP means. So I asked my dear great-uncle Waldo, whose laptop computer I use to send these messages to my new American and Scottish interfaith friends.

Great-uncle Waldo told me he is a member in the battle against the Nigerian 419 scams and has therefore installed what he called a "mantel" (cloaker) on his computer which shows up as a US IP. I do not have access to another computer, so I hope you will allow me to continue to use my dear great-uncle Waldo's laptop to communicate with my dear new American and Scottish interfaith friends :D ? I come in peace and just want to share some of our delicious German beers with you folks :D.

Incidentally, my family really did brew beer when they were in Austria.
Also, I am aware that you are rather a psychologist, philosopher and intellectual Jewish poster, are you a university professor ? :)

By the way, the Austrians do make some nice Ottakringer, but not in the same league as we Germans :D.

I have to go drop a Leipziger Gose, it is near 4.5% ABV :D.

Interesting. Do you mind if I just call you Avi?

lol you got that vibe too? It was the particular smiley he uses excessively that made me think in that direction. The IP's are similar enough that it's probably him on two diff computers, same network. Good call!

Come now Loody...... are we right?

Hoho, Das Tao, always the suspicious Scot, :D. I have not yet had the pleasure to meet this Avi. Now, from what I can read, this Avi is an American Jewish poster and I am a fine German Christian. Also, from what I can see Avi is some sort of brilliant scientist and engineer :D:D. I am just a simple Braumeister in the fine German tradition. I work with malt and hops, he works with quarks and quasars :D. How could it be possible that we have any sort of connection :p.

Perhaps you are a bit intimidated by having a fine German Christian present here on the interfaith forum ? :D We might force you into some heavy duty theist discussions. Please do not feel threatened, as I told you and that gentleman with the fine Germanic name, Dauer, I come here in peace. By the way, we are working on a nice Schwartzbier at around 11 degrees Plato, would you like the recipe ?:D It goes nicely with a Bratwurst und sauerkraut mit Dusseldorfer Lowensenf mustard for lunch ;).

Schöne Grüße, Ludvig.

und die besten Wünsche für Sie, Netti-Netti !!:D

Unfortunately, I have been unable to ascertain your religion from all of your wunderbar posts, my dear young lady. It appears that you are a religious leader of all faiths, a sort of modern day Ghandi ? :)

I will look forward to learning your views about some of our great German Buddhists, such as Karl Eugen Neumann, Paul Dahlke, Georg Grimm, und Frederich Zimmermann ? :D

Hehehoho, my dear new American friend with the German surname, Dauer. :D You should probably stick with your expertise, in psychology and philosophy and modern Judaism :D. Your detective skills in computer security are not up to the task. :p

As I explained to Das Tao, how could I possibly be in the same league as that brilliant strategist, Avi. He is so clever and intelligent I could not hope to discuss science and engineering anywhere near his level :D. From what I can see, he is an expert at chemistry, physics, mathematics and he is highly knowledgable about Torah, Talmud, Midrash and many other very complex fields.

I on the other hand am a humble German Braumeister with family roots back to the 1500s :D. And a fine Lutheran Christian :). By the way, it is time to eat again, this time Brauenwurst und Roggenbier und a kleiner kohl :D:D !

Come now Loody...... are we right?

Hoho, my dear Scottish freund :D!!

Of course you are incorrect !!

By the way, why hasn't your dear friend, NativeAstral greeted me yet ?? :D She is another very lovely, Scottish young lady, with some deep philosophical insights. She would also be a big fan of some of our German philosophers, such as Hegel, Nietzsche und Wittgenstein. We can have a big European philosophy party. I will bring the Rauchbier !!:D
