I watched it the other night for the first time on dvd, I don't like theaters so I waited. My brother was a rescue swimmer, then a chief instructor. The movie blew me away, man. I am in awe of what you guys do, Quahom. Very admirable, and you guys deserve more respect than you get!! James
The Star of Captivating Happiness, a movie about the wives of the Decemberists (the men who tried to overthrow Nicholai I [or was it Aleksander I] of Russia) who followed their husbands to Siberia. Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine
Against my better judgment Star Trek Generations- starts well with the original cast (that's how you kill Captain Kirk) and plummets when the Next Gen turn up (and that's not how you kill Captain Kirk...). I much prefer Insurection when it come to Next Gen movies... pity cos I rather liked the series. (the rest suck... but The original cast ones are great-even 5).
I have been wondering if anyone has seen a little flick called "Holes"? I caught it while searching through the sometimes vast wasteland of the entertainment world not too long ago. There is something very innocent yet provocative about it. Hmmm...imagine--I think it was on the Disney Channel. (pfw--I love the Next Trek stuff! I haven't seen the movie in a while, but right now I am working on catching the television episodes I have missed. Last Halloween, a friend of mine insisted I dress as Counselor Troi (sp?) for a party contest, but I was unable to go.) InPeace, InLove
I watched holes several months ago...pretty good flick, and yes it's a Disney movie. I liked it so much I watched it a few times, lol.
Is 'Holes' the one were they are digging a field of holes? I remember the adverts for it- never got around to watching it tho, do remember it looked interesting- must look it up soon. Yeah Treks great-love the original, DS9 and next gen(although Enterprise should have been shot at birth...)
Do you really, really look like Deanna Troi, crew psychologist aboard Capt. Jean luc Picard's starship Enterprise ? I just knew it...not a surprise... I knew it. There were rumors that she and no.1 had a "thingy" goin' on, but I don't remember any episodes about it really happening except perhaps as other characters on the holodeck. flow....
Hey, flow-- While I relish the thought, I'm not sure how much I look like the lovely Marina Sirtis. My friend was attending the party as Ahura (she really looks like her), and she thought I could pull off Troi. I have also dressed as a Kliban cat before, too--doesn't necessarily mean I really look like one, lol.... Oh, they definitely dabbled! Maybe even danced. Much is left to the imagination. But I always thought she belonged with that sexy Jean Luc! Alas, however, I think he was rather smitten by the ship's beautiful doctor Crusher. Sigh.... InPeace, InLove
Lol, she and Ryker marry in "All good things". CDR Data dies saving Captain Picard, but not before transferring his memories into B-4 (the Data prototype found on a desert world). There is one more movie coming out in December 2007. v/r Joshua
Really? I didn't know that! Caught a picture on the Generations site of them kissing. Didn't realize they got married! (I did say I was catching up). InPeace, InLove
Hi Cage and pfw-- Yes, this is the film. You should catch it sometime, pfw. I think you will enjoy it. It is sorta-kinda predictable if you are really paying attention. But even in its predictability, there are some surprises here and there. InPeace, InLove
holes...with G-d's thumb...I remember there being a lot to that movie...good coversaton with my kids...they had both read the book.. Breach...eh...if it is all true it belies that truth is stranger than fiction...not very impressed. Ghost Rider...not one of his better selections Children of men...again not so hot...to many holes to suspend reality. reading has been better than the theatre of late...
They married in the movie Nemisis (or as I like to call it-the next gen movie that's not too bad until it trys to be star trek 2)-the marrage in 'all good things' was one of many possible futures (I need to get out more...) The possible 2007 movie is probably going to be a re-cast of the 'original' (kirk) star trek and directed by the guy who gave us Alias- can't remember his name). The big clue being the teaser poster-an original series badge-and that Matt Damon has been mentioned as being a good choice to play Kirk(not definate though) joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel and the excelent Firefly/Serenity) has been mentioned as a writer involved but nothing definate.
You're right. In "All Good things" is the last series episode of Next Gen. In Nemesis (the last movie), Data sings "Blue Skies", as a wedding gift to the new "Rykers". In the end Shinzon (Picard's clone) is killed, Ryker takes out the Viceroy and Data sacrifices himself to save Picard and Enterprise. B-4 starts humming to himself in Picard's Cabin, and it "Blue Skies". Picard realizes Data is locked somewhere in B-4's positronic neural network (flawed as it is).
That's it-but you forgot Deanna's driving-2nd time a woman gets behind the 'wheel' of the Enterprise, 2nd time it hits something (first time being in Generations- I mean, how could she have missed an entire planet... oh, she didn't) I'm getting out of here before I get mobbed for that.lol
Oh no, my friend--you cannot introduce such a gauntlet and get off that easy! This can mean only one thing, of course.... I must review the situation (meaning I must catch up on the history of this mythology). Then I shall return and quite possibly lead the mob. But since I don't condone lynching, we may have to be more creative about things. Engage.... InPeace? InLove
Stop it, flow! Just stop it. Where's my fan? On a less (whew, it's warm in here!) fantastical note, have you seen Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) lately? Wow. Some pics and a little info--I knew she was a singer and dancer as well as an actress, but I didn't realize her ongoing interest in space travel. But it would make sense. STARTREK.COM : Biography I noticed on the site that the spelling of the character's name is actually like I have typed it above. I thought it was "Ahura". Actually, I think that was the spelling I found on another S.T. site (can't find it at the moment). Anyway, spelled with an "A", the name can actually be associated with Zoroastrian mythology. Hmmm.... Yep--guess I really am a trekkie at heart. InPeace, InLove, Knee-deep in Tribbles (sp?)
As I said...a real foxy lady...even if she did have Zoroastrian connections. After all they're the culture from Persia that sent the three wise men to Bethlehem. My 2nd was friends with a guy that wrote two or three of the original series' scripts...or at least the story line for them. Then he moved on to the big money in the late 60's/early seventies porn film biz. Cold shower anyone ? flow....
