What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

I think someone put something on here before about the the new Omen movie. I saw it last night on DVD. I've never seen the original, so I can't compare, but I thought the new one was very good.

As for recent movies, we saw The Prestige a few weeks ago, really enjoyed it.

I haven't seen anything in a theater for quite a while, but I do rent a fair amount through Netflix. We watche MI3 the other day. It was pretty good. We watched "Cars" a couple nights ago. I thought it was awesome, but I'm a sucker for Pixar.

Capon Springs! Holy Smoly, I've been there! Long time ago as a boy. Had a blast there. Was there when Mr. Lou Austin was still alive. Had our pix and home movies taken with him. He just loved kids. Just a sweet man.

Do they still have the natural spring pool (brrrr on even the hottest summer day)? Do they still have the golf course? Do they have Bingo with apple butter as one of the prizes? Do they have a camp fire with singing and roasted peanuts? Do they have seven grain cream of wheat for breakfast? Do they still sing "Love and Marriage" for folk's anniversary? Do they still sell "The Great Me"? Do they still have flag raisings?

Man, I had some good memories there.
All that and more...go back and make some more memories! I'll tell you when the next retreat is...if you can put up with us heretics!

Thinking about seeing 007:Casino Royal today with my dad!
What did you think?
I found it ok, but about 20 minutes too long. Some of the action sequences should have been cut down, they just got boring.

I hope this is okay to post here--I saw "The Nativity Story" today at the matinee. I thought it was beautiful--great cinematography, I thought. There were some folks behind us laughing all the way through, but I found the story so beautiful that I had to squelch a sob from time to time.

InPeace,
InLove

Haven't made it to Nativity yet...

But Borat will make you question everything, 007 isn't upto bond standards, DejaVu is interesting, as is Bobby, if you are old enough to remember how accurate it all is...

I don't know actors..was he in it? Didn't I catch maybe that he directed? The movie was unique directing wise I thought...and it worked.
I think he did both, of course he looks a little different from his mighty ducks and young guns days. the movie may not come out over here, have to wait for a dvd.

It is out on DVD... When I was a kid I wanted to be a might duck so bad.... ;\ Adam Banks from the "bad" team, but turns good... and helps them wi... Well I don't want to spoil the films for those who haven't seen them, or those who cannot predict, easily predictable films... but Banks was my hero ;\ Not as good as slap shots 1&2 but good.

So sorry yet another of my half baked answers...I love stupid funny...and it was stupid funny in my opinion. You know not like intelligent funny where one has to think and be amused...just lock, stock and barrel ridiculous.

Did I say Peaceful Warrior on here...I don't own many DVDs but this is one I will buy...(to create a Sunday school program for my high school kids, little to risque for middle schoolers, although not worse than stuff their parents took them to in elementary school)

It is out on DVD
Not in Taiwan

Ultimate stupid funny movie?
Mine has to be The Three Amigos

There's no way the 'ultimate stupid funny movie' could be the topic of discussion for long without someone bringing up Monty Python and the Holy Grail...

 She di int say that!

How about Tremors? of Blazin Saddles? of Up in Smoke?

One of my favorite lines...'We plan ahead, that way we don't have to do anything today.'

Blazing Saddles: "I'm tired."

Up in Smoke: "'Scuse me while I work these lights."
(or is that "Born in East L.A.? which is sometimes silly but not stupid-funny)

Guess I tend to find my funnies in the music??

:D
